Intelligent 3 Channel Serial K-055

Features

The Intelligent Serial I/O controller is ideal for use in low cost systems requiring up to three serial ports. A switch mode power supply can be provided on the board to allow it to be powered from a wide range of low voltage supplies from 7 to 35 Volts DC and 5 to 24 Volt AC.

The intelligent controller on this product is a 68K Micro-Midget. This product has up to 1 M-byte of EPROM and 512 k-byte of static RAM. The controller also provides the 16 I/O channels, a M-Bus or I2C interface, two 16-bit timer counters and a serial port. The serial port can be buffered for communication over RS232 or RS485 channels. When used with RS232 the serial port can be connected directly to a PC.

The two extra serial ports are for communication over RS232 networks
